ファンの方なら、
既にお聴きかも？ですが、
よかったですよね〜
“The Pretender” と言えば、
’76 年のアルバム、
名盤 “Late For The Sky” に続き、
個人的にも好きで、
今だに、月一くらいで店でも流れてるかな？
B面最後の曲が “The Pretender”
コーラスがなんと、David Crosby に、Graham Nash ！！！

「夢を諦めて、お金の為に、日々単調な人生を送る人」
「偽って生きる人」= 「プリテンダー」
って、そのまんま注釈されたりしてましたが、
決してそんな淋しい話じゃないのは、
イントロの時点で伝わってきます、
2004年のインタビューより、
（前略）息子が5歳になって学校に通い始めたので3年ほどツアーをやめたし、ツアーにしても夏だけにするようにした。僕は変わったんだ。現実の世界を暮らさなきゃいけなかった。いつも思ってた。人生について曲を書くなら、普通の人達と同じような生活をする必要があると。人生におこる現実について書くことに興味を持つようになったんだ。
